Many Physiotherapists and trainers proclaim to be sports specialists – But just how skilled and specialist are they? Who have they worked with; what experiences have they had; can they combine their knowledge and skills and adapt this to meet each individual’s unique situation and sport?
Being Chartered Physiotherapists who truly specialise in sports-specific training and rehabilitation we are able to offer a seamless progression from acute injury management through to recovery and beyond. There’s no longer a need to see several professionals with the difficulty that this can bring in terms of communication, contradicting programs etc.
Physio2You offer bespoke treatment and dynamic rehabilitation aimed at each client’s specific problem, their biomechanics and posture, sport and position, training strategies and goals.

We regularly work with amateur, semi-pro and elite athletes and can therefore successfully implement dynamic, efficient and above-all effective programs for recovery and performance enhancement. So whether your goal is to improve fitness or prepare for a one-off event; abolish that chronic recurring niggle; get back to playing sport regularly or to achieve peak performance, we can design tailor made programmes to specifically suit your needs.

Injuries

About 85 per cent of elite and recreational badminton players are injured during an average year, 65 per cent of regular runners are hit by the injury bug, and 21 percent of walkers are afflicted (Peak Performance Magazine).

Contact sports such as rugby or lacrosse produce high injury numbers, as do intense sports such as basketball or squash, but surprisingly we probably see more overuse and training related injuries than we do traumatic ones. These injuries often take longer to fully rehabilitate as they require changes in technique, training pattern, posture or biomechanics before the individual can be fully confident that the injury won’t return.

Patellofemoral (kneecap) pain affects 60% of athletes and 25 % of the regular public in the UK. Most evidence indicates that there is no one cause but rather a multitude of pathologies that can affect the same joint. As a result many non-specific programs of strengthening adopted by Physiotherapists or Trainers are ineffective.

Physio2You offer bespoke, sport-specific treatment and rehabilitation that focuses on not only the symptoms but also addresses the root causes such as biomechanics and control, to prevent recurrence.

ACL, Ligament and meniscal Rehabilitation

An extremely specialised area and we are increasingly taking on clients who are unhappy with their rehabilitation elsewhere. There are many different operations, grafts and rehabilitation strategies out there and each surgeon has their own individual guidelines.

Physio2You offer bespoke rehabilitation which is not fixed by a restricting protocol but is dynamic and adaptable to suit each individual’s needs, whilst remaining within your surgeons guidelines. During the first 2-3months Physio2You focus on basic exercises to address strength, control, balance and general fitness, integrating sport-specific drills and increasing confidence without aggravating the graft or repair.

In the latter stages of rehabilitation we find that this early ‘grounding’ allows clients to more effectively and efficiently progress back to, or frequently exceed, their pre-injury ability and fitness.

We particularly focus on how and why the individual was injured and develop rehabilitation strategies aimed at prevention of reoccurrence. This often involves sport specific rotational control, flexibility and agility work.

Physio2You combine their vast knowledge and experience with specialist portable rehabilitation equipment aimed at comprehensively challenging every individual no matter their sport, fitness or ability.

Individual or Team Screening

Having worked with elite sports teams, we are used to assessing individuals to identify areas of weakness or musculoskeletal dysfunction. We have also regularly had to make that difficult decision as to whether or not a player is fit enough to play.

So whether it’s a pre or post-season MOT, pre-event fitness assessment or you just want a baseline from which to improve, Physio2You can offer a complete screening service for either individuals or teams.
We can provide a bespoke exercise regime which will help to prevent injuries, suggest areas that you may want to improve, or we can offer a comprehensive package of analysis, education, treatment, rehabilitation and performance enhancement.
